This has been my jam for a minute, but it looks like Drea and Million $ Mano, better known as He Say She Say, are really starting to push this joint as a single of sorts. Between this group, Hey Champ, Sarah Green, and Matthew Santos, Lupe is putting together a nice roster of non-hip-hop artists on 1st & 15th. FNF Up!

Yeah, it was offsides, but that finish was still ill. Plus, we all know Robin hates his right foot, so that makes it even doper. And “le double” on his more familiar left:
If the Gunners can play the mid-table teams the way they played Chelsea and Manchester United, this could be an incredible 4 team EPL title race. RvP’s the man. Shout to the homey Didier though…when he gets back in form, Chelsea should be the favorite.
If you’ve been sleeping on Idle Warship, it’s a new group consisting of Talib Kweli, Res, and Graph Nobel. They’ve put out a few tracks already, but here’s a video for their newest joint, “Black Snake Moan.” Peep their web clip for “Fall Back” from the primary season and then catch up with Talib through my recent interview with him if you missed it.
(I was going to point out that it’s NSFW, but that’s obvious. Besides, my European side was like “what’s the big deal?”)
I believe this is the 3rd to last video scheduled for Ev’s Layover EP, but I’m not sure what the next one will be. The final (and only ‘big-budget’) clip will be “For Whom The Bell Tolls,” which will be shot at the start of December. If you want to hear more info about Ev’s projects, be sure to peep that interview I did with him and Alchemist a few weeks back right here.
Chyea, the long awaited visuals for “The Truth” video have finally arrived. Jake + Free + Ali + Rik Cordero = dope. Have you copped White Van Music yet?
Ever have one of those times where everything is going great, and then something completely random goes wrong and tries to pull you down? That’s pretty much how my weekend went. Aside from my 6th grade basketball team crashing out of our tournament with the quickness, everything was busy, but still dope…until I drove in to the station for this week’s Sound Session and my car decided to blow up. It took all day today to get things back up and running, but I swear, those Prius jawns look better by the minute.
Thankfully, this week’s show provided a little therapy through an hour and a half of good music and good people. We ran a ton of great tracks and played two short snippets of our recent interview with Talib Kweli. Be sure to check out the full version of that interview (and watch the video in HD) below. Also, shout to the homegirl Jessica from Spectre for coming through to kick it!

Akon decided to raise the WLotD bar with this one and do an entire song full of…questionable…lyrics. Here’s the first 20 seconds:
“I won’t take off your mp3 address, until you tell me yes/
That you received my text, now you got the sex/
I wanna mp3 me & you, I’m on your laptop/
Go ahead and download, baaaaaaby/
I wanna mp3 me & you, straight from my hard drive/
Into your software, gotta let you know I care”
–Akon, “MP3 Me & You”
Can’t we just kill this whole extended metaphor already? Next did it first (“I want your PC, sit on my laptop”), and every incarnation since then has been embarrassingly bad. Here’s the ‘Kon if you want to hear more of the hilarity:
