Could there be a more fitting song title?  The State of the Artist crew is quickly becoming one of my favorite local groups and this video from Stephan Gray certainly helps the cause.  Off that SeattleCaliFragilisticExtraHellaDopeness.

Super busy reviewing a TON of resumes for that job posting I mentioned last week, so I’ll keep this week’s SNSS update to a minimum.  Having the ability to hire someone and potentially change his/her life is somewhat daunting.  No one Hyphen should have all this power.

This has been the jam for the past few weeks and I’m glad to see the Top Dawg crew turned it into a video.  Smooth, mellow beat, plus dope MC’s…what else do you need?

Kendrick is a cot damn beast, btw.

I remember making the yearly drive from Seattle to L.A. and back for college and every time I went through Fresno, I had the same thought: one side of I-5 looked like any strip mall friendly college neighborhood while the other…looked like the F that Fash describes in “The Ecology.”  Great records, and you get the 2 for 1 visual treatment courtesy of Punit Dhesi too.

Just like C-Sick last year, the winner of the last Red Bull Big Tune beat battle got to choose a legendary MC to get in the studio with and Frank Dukes chose Ghostface.  I heard some hilarious stories about this trip to L.A. from behind the scenes, but peep the beginning of part 2 for a brief example.  Ghost is crazy.

Never Been…high.  The same cannot be said for Wiz.

I’ve been meaning to post up this footage for…well…almost a whole year.  Damn.  Eh well, better late than never!

I shot some visuals for De La’s performance at Bumbershoot last year and the homey mind of i edited it together nicely.  Enjoy and be sure to come to the festival this year.  Drake, J. Cole, and Jay Electronica alone should demand your presence.
