Ghostface Killah – 2getha Baby (video)

New visuals for the track Bilal performed live on SNSS a few months back. Missed it? Peep below:
On Graduation, Kanye’s goal was to create stadium anthems (remember the line, “stadium status”?) and it seems with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he’s crossed over to the orchestral world. Opera house status doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but the music sure sounds perfect.
Really looking forward to Lykke’s Wounded Rhymes album. Sometimes you just get a little rapped out.
Another rather generic video, but again, the music is dope. I’ve always had mixed feelings on Banks…obviously he puts a bit more into his bars than the other G-Unit MC’s over the years, but there’s something forced about his records/rhymes/overall image. That said, he’s capable of making great grimy tracks (see “Reach Out“) and even some good ones for the ladies. The beat and hook here are smashes, but I just get the feeling any decent MC could make the same track with that combo.
Video doesn’t do much for me, but this record is dope. Snoop’s flooded the net with these viral videos recently and while it’s a good way to stay top of mind, I’d rather see a few higher budget clips rather than the WSHH style joints. We do get our first look at Snoop’s 15 year old signing, Pilot, though it’s too early to judge his ability. The voice is unique though, which can help.
Oh, and Jake One on the beat…if you ain’t know.
Visuals for one of the songs that made SNSS‘ “Best of 2010” show a few weeks back. This was filmed out here in the San Juan Islands while Daytona and others (include Aloe Blacc, who you can see in this video) shot the new LRG catalog.
And this song gets eternal props for the Above The Rim reference. As always.
I’ve heard a few of them done better, but overall, this beatbox performance from France’s EKLIPS is bananas. Oui, c’est bon.
Super busy with the day job this week, so just the basic SNSS wrap up. Shout to Onry Ozzborn for coming through the studio and for the big homey Talib Kweli for calling in. Cop his new album, Gutter Rainbows, from all digital outlets today! If, for some reason, you need to listen to it first, you can stream it in full right here.

I’ve been working so hard lately that I can relate to the song title. Also, I’ll count that Dorian Gray reference as a shout out hahaha. What up OU & 6th! Great record fellas…
