Ahhh, I’m so behind on posting good stuff from the last few weeks (fine, months), but I’ll try to toss a few things up here and there. If you missed the visuals for Thurz’ “Dope” record, peep ’em. They’re…well…dope.
The homegirl Chok recently released a holiday themed EP (cop it here) and here are some visuals for one of the records. Not only is the song dope and the video cleanly shot, but the message included really sums up what the holiday season should be all about. Well done Chok!
The Good Sin documents a recent trip from Seattle to Los Angeles for a concert with the homies and it doubles as the official video for “The Crown.” Dope record and cool visuals, though I swear…if I ever sit next to a rapper making a music video on the plane, I’m jumping out that b.
I’m catching up on some videos I missed over the last few weeks (work x the Christmas madness) and I have to post this one up. Nardwuar caught up with Ghost during Deini’s first ever visit to Vancouver a few weeks back and as expected, hilarity and wisdom ensued. “Noodles is noodles.” What more can you say?
Elzhi’s manager, Jae Barber, teams up with Gerard Victor to create some nice visuals for El’s remake of Nas’ classic (and my favorite song off Illmatic). You’ll recognize faces like Eminem, Royce Da 5’9″, J Dilla, Proof, T3, Baatin, and others in the footage of Detroit’s legendary Hip-Hop Shop, famously highlighted in 8 Mile.
Some fun visuals from a drunken Atlanta night with Thurz, Ro Blvd, and Tomas Whitmore off Ro’s upcoming Heart Pounding Panic album dropping first quarter 2012. The synths on this track are Jon Brion on Late Registration status type ill.
I’m going to spend some time this week putting together our “Best Of 2011” wrap up show and this track from the DMV crew, Gods’illa, was already on my radar. We’ll see next Sunday if the visuals help solidify it’s status…
Visuals off of one of my favorite projects from the Northwest over the past few years, The Good Sin’s collaboration with 10.4 Rog, Late. I’m was worried I might be spotted in one of those pictures, but then I realized a real life Hyphen has never been caught on film in the wild. Real ninjas move in silence.
I didn’t think I’d like this, but they won me over with a few of the lines (“I’m Wale’s secret Santa” and Drake’s intonation on “liiiIIIIIIFE!”) and a few impressions in particular (Big Sean, Beyonce, J. Cole, Kreayshawn, Birdman, Drake, and Wyclef). J. Cole receiving a basketball as a gift was golden too. Pretty good stuff overall.
Order of appearances: Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Plies, Rick Ross, Beyonce, J. Cole, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Tyler The Creator, Kreayshawn, Lil B, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Drake, Wyclef Jean, Rihanna, and LMFAO.
