M.anifest – Makaa Maka (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on May 25th, 2012 by Hyphen

I missed this video from my guy M.anifest when it originally dropped back in January, but better late than never.  M takes you back to his homeland of Ghana with visuals for “Makaa Maka,” which loosely translates from Twi as “if I said it, I said it” or “I say it without apology.”  Say that then.

Posted in Artists, Joints, Music Videos on September 2nd, 2009 by Hyphen

Damn, when we first played this song on Sound Session a while ago, apparently it wasn’t finished.  I had know idea the homies Budo, Krukid, and M.anifest were getting Ali on there too!  This is a big tune…

M.anifest rhymin’ with Peter Parker

Posted in Artists, Joints, Live Performances, Other Peoples' Interviews on January 29th, 2009 by Hyphen

One of the nicest up-and-coming MC’s in the game, M.anifest, dropped by Peter Parker’s show on B96 in Minneapolis to drop a little verse and debut a new track from his upcoming Coming To America EP.  Big shout to both these dudes…M.anifest for making dope tracks (and being in a crew with the homey Budo) and Peter Parker for having a dope show in the vein of what we do here at KUBE with Sound Session.  There aren’t many big stations that have outlets like this in 2009 so I hope y’all are enjoying us while we’re still around!

Peep the joint too:

M.anifest – Age of Obama (prod. by Budo)

Posted in Artists, Joints, Politics on October 13th, 2008 by Hyphen

Bams

Chyea, those A.R.M. boys are on a roll lately.  If you missed Krukid‘s “Swagger Lockdown” voting PSA, download that and then peep M.anifest‘s “Age of Obama” track:

M.anifest – “Age of Obama”

M.anifest drops some great, timely lyrics about Obama and the change we need in this country over an ill beat from Seattle’s own Budo.  Be on the lookout for an A.R.M. mixtape coming soon!

Krukid – Swagger Lockdown (A Voting PSA)

Posted in Artists, Joints on October 9th, 2008 by Hyphen

Krukid

Brand new freestyle joint from 1/3rd of the mighty A.R.M. (what up Budo!  what up M.anifest!), the immensely talented Krukid.  You really need to peep how he rips Kanye’s beats and drops some insightful, educational ish about voting in this year’s election at the same time.  It was already my kind of track, and then Krukid went ahead and blessed The Audacity of Dope with a shout too?  Aw man, it’s a wrap.  Thanks homey!

Krukid – “Swagger Lockdown (A Voting PSA)”

Speaking of voting, an important note to my Seattle people: while our registration by mail deadline has passed, you can still register in person until October 20th if you go down to the King County Elections HQ in Renton.  For more information, take your tardy ass here.

A.R.M (Krukid & M.anifest) – Delilah & Uprisin’

Posted in Artists, Joints on July 24th, 2008 by Hyphen

ARM

As I mentioned when I posted M.anifest’s “Babylon Breakdown” video, M.anifest, Krukid, and the homey Budo are putting together a dope project called A.R.M. (African Rebel Movement / Africans Representing the Motherland).  See, M.anifest‘s representing Ghana (shout to the Black Stars), Krukid reps for Uganda, and Budo…well, that’s the 206 connection.  They’ve decided to leak a few tracks from their upcoming album and the joints are fire.  Check ’em out below:

A.R.M. (Krukid & M.anifest) – “Delilah
A.R.M. (Krukid & M.anifest) – “Uprisin'”

Hit up the crew on their new MySpace page, http://myspace.com/arm4arm, and be on the lookout for the full project coming soon!

M.anifest – Babylon Breakdown (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on July 11th, 2008 by Hyphen

Here’s the new video from M.anifest off his album Manifestations.  To be honest, I haven’t heard a ton from dude, but everything I’ve checked out, I’ve liked a lot.  Also, he’s working on a project called A.R.M. (African Rebel Movement.) with another dope MC, Krukid, and Seattle’s own Budo on production.  The title plays off the fact that M.anifest is from Ghana and Krukid’s from Uganda.  I’m still trying to research exactly what part of Africa Budo is representing…but in any case, the music is fire!  They should have a single leaking to y’all real soon, be on the lookout for it.

For more, check out M.anifest’s official site.
