A few posts ago, I mentioned that Taysean is possibly the most underrated artist in the Seattle scene. Looking at the game from a national perspective, I might have to give that distinction to Laws. I’m continually surprised that more people aren’t up on one of the nicest and most versatile MC’s around. Hopefully that will change with the release of his Paul McCartney inspired Yesterday’s Future project this summer.
Heres something a little new/different for yall. One of the things Ill be bringing you guys to this blog is music from artists you may not hear much of even on SNSS. One of my favorite artists, Curren$y, formerly part of Weezy’s Young Money label, just released his newest mixtape titled Smokee Robinson with Don Cannon. With appearances from Nipsey Hussle, Dom Kennedy, Wiz Khalifa and more, Curren$y certainly doesn’t disappoint with his newest installment. Download link after the tracklist, leave your thoughts. Indulge…

EDITOR’S NOTE: My man Mitch posted this up ages ago and it just sat in queue. *Shakes fist @ WordPress* My bad folks!
While on tour with Reflection Eternal (check our interview here) and U-N-I, one of the nicest up and coming MC’s in the game, Laws, stopped by the Sound Session studio to chop it up. We talked all about his background, linking up with the J.U.S.T.I.CE. League production team, his 4:57 mixtape with Don Cannon, his upcoming Yesterday’s Future project, and more. Check out the links below for the full interview!

As a prelude to their collab album, The Stimulus Package (February 16th, 2010), the big homey Jacob Wizzle links up with Freeway and Don Cannon to release The Beat Made Me Do It. As J. Moore always says, “Freeway just loves to rap.” And he’s exceptionally good at it. Cop this immediately.
