The homey Kosha Dillz came through the station recently while he was out on tour with the RZA. You know we couldn’t let him leave before he kicked a little freestyle in the KUBE 93 parking lot.
Kosha will be joining us in the studio on this week’s SNSS as the road warrior himself is back in Seattle. I’m predicting another dope free off the dome…
Since I’m gonna run this on Sound Session tomorrow, I figured I’d post up this quick mix I made combining Timbaland’s “Say Something” featuring Drake with the freestyle that Lupe murdered last week. Someone’s verse had to go…sorry Tim.
This is some old footage from Shad’s 2006 performance at the Beats, Breaks & Culture festival. He was opening up for Cadence Weapon in the Brigantine Room at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre. There were some technical difficulties with the decks in the middle of the performance, so Shad dropped a free, and I started handing him stuff that I found by the stage.
I love ish like this. Reminds me of simpler times.
Ahhh, I love ish like this. Just a dope ass beat and 3 ill MC’s [hip-hop slang i hate] going in [/hhsih] over it. Shout to Pac Div, Sean G, and Khalil…
Man…I’ve been trying to tell you about Shad. This little freestyle he recorded off the dome in the back of his Warped Tour bus with DJ TLO and Dallas Green is just another example of the incredible talent dude has. Remember this too?
Be sure to follow along with Shad’s Warped Tour experience over on his site and you better catch his set when he comes through your town:

Oh…and The Old Prince is officially in stores now in the U.S.! [Diddy] COP THAT Cop That cop that [/Diddy]
As I mentioned in the post for the most recent Sound Session, Krispy and Al from the Knux came through the studio to kick it and co-host last night’s show. We talked about their next album, upcoming tour plans, an all-star remix to their “F!re” track that’s in the works, the Twitter phenomenon, and more. Plus, they even kicked a quick freestyle live over the air.
You can watch part of the interview above (including the freestyle) and/or download the audio below:
On a week where J. Moore was holding it down for us with Jake One in Minnesota at the Rhymesayers’ Soundset concert, I was expecting to run through a normal episode of SNSS solo. Turns out, I forgot that the long holiday weekend also meant that the yearly Sasquatch Festival was taking place down at the Gorge and the homies The Knux were in town early for their Monday performance. Krispy Kream and Rah Almillio dropped through the studio to kick it and co-host with me, and we talked about their next album, upcoming tour plans, an all-star remix for their “F!re” track that’s in the works, the Twitter phenomenon, and more. Plus, they even ripped a quick freestyle live over the air.
You can peep the interview and full show below…video of the freestyle coming soon. In case you missed their first appearance on SNSS, click here.

This dude is freaking killing it. Nice shot at the folks who took issue with his use of the Blackberry on the Funk Flex freestyle video. Anyway, whoever brings him to the Northwest first will get major props. Promoters, festivals, radio stations…hmmm…who will it be?
Big shout to Peter Parker at B96 in Minneapolis (one of the few DJ’s at a big station riding out for good music like we do on Sound Session) for shooting this over and for shouting out the site during the interview. Glad you enjoy the bloggy blogg homey!
I hope everyone is ready for a month full of seeing Asher everywhere. With Asleep In The Bread Aisle dropping on 4-20, he’s going to get a lot of press in the coming weeks and it’s really all deserved. Dude is a dope MC and a cool ass dude, so those with the unnecessary hate can [Jay-Z] go thaaaaataway [/Hov]. Be sure to head on over to MrPeterParker.com on Tuesday the 7th to cop an exclusive mixtape from Asher and Peter, and if you missed his appearance on SNSS a few weeks ago, click here.
