The Lupe Fiasco Show interview with Le Messie

Posted in Artists, Goods, Other Peoples' Interviews on March 15th, 2009 by Hyphen

Seeing as how my last post got someone riled up with my defense of Lupe, I thought this would be an appropriate follow up.  The home girl KayCee has been helping run the big Lupe blog on the net for a minute now and they just recently changed URL’s.  So not only is this post a reminder to hit their new site at TheLupeFiascoShow.com, but you can also head there now to read an interview with producer/clothing designer Le Messie.  He talks about his production on The Cool, Lupe’s clothing lines, and even touches on the mysterious Japanese Cartoon project that’s in the works.

Peep it all right here.

U-N-I talks with The Shameless Plug

Posted in Artists, Other Peoples' Interviews on December 18th, 2008 by Hyphen

The homegirl KayCee from The Shameless Plug hooked up with the homeboys Thurz & Y-O when they went out to VA a little while back.  Check out the resulting interview to hear the fellas talk about their background, the curse of the “hipster” label, blogs, their upcoming Love Supreme album (y’all aren’t ready), and all sorts of goodness.  You also get some cool live performance shots.

I’ll be posting up an interview I did with U-N-I pretty soon, but first the snow and ice needs to get off the roads so I can go get the audio from the station hahah.  Hold tight!

Nas talks Obama at Hampton University

Posted in Artists, Live Performances, Politics on October 7th, 2008 by Hyphen

You can be cynical all you want, but I think it’s really dope to see people get inspired like Nas has been from Obama.  He’s obviously decided that he wants to educate himself on things that he wasn’t interested in prior to Barack running for office.  Whether you have this awakening at 18, 30, or have a reawakening at 65, this movement is real.  Is Barack the answer to all life’s ills?  Of course not.  Has he already changed the world for the better?  Definitely.

And are we just getting started?  Absolutely.

Shout to the homegirl KayCee for filming this.
