The wait is over!  Here’s the new album from Maffew Ragazino, who is almost single-handedly providing me with everything I need from good ol’ NYC boom bap right now.  If you’ve been listening to SNSS at all the past few months, you’ve probably heard us spin a few of his records.  I highly recommend you grab this ASAP since Rhyme Pays, but thanks to Cash In Cash Out, Boundless NY, and Rosenberg, you don’t have to.  Download link below!

Why do you hate rappers?

I hate them for reasons to numerous to even begin to list, but PackFM, Masta Ace, Sadat X, Poison Pen, Skyzoo, Stimuli, Peter Rosenberg, Iron Solomon, B-Real, and more do a good job giving their opinions.  For me, the biggest problem is that everyone’s a rapper.  Most folks just need to stop.

Thumbs down @ the shot to Lupe though.  I suppose his public persona puts a lot of people off, but seeing as how he raps better than 99% of the MC’s in the game, I’m fine with him classifying himself as an “artist” rather than a “rapper.”  I’d actually agree with that.  Anybody can be a rapper these days.  Few rappers can be artists.  Just my 2 cents.

Peter Rosenberg presents A Rosenberg Oddisee (mixtape)

One of my fellow “real hip-hop heads” on the radio, Peter Rosenberg, linked with Oddisee to whip up this little EP featuring Torae, Skyzoo, Daytona, Saigon, Buckshot, and (the lovely) Nikki Jean.  The concept was simple: all Oddisee beats + dope MC’s + one day to record it all.  I’m sure it was hectic, but it turned out great.  Download link and tracklisting after the jump!
