I had the chance to chop it up with Meek Mill backstage after his recent performance at Showbox Market and here’s the video we put together.  Meek discussed how he takes the energy from his studio records to the stage, the inspiration behind his hit single “House Party,” his “Dreamchasers 2” mixtape breaking download records, his official upcoming major label debut album, his favorite Philadelphia MC’s, and more.
Big shout to Meek, his MMG family, WMG, Detooz Films, and Le Fresh Perspective for helping coordinate.
Meek and Drizzy team up for the visuals to the current single off Dreamchasers 2, which is rumored to have been downloaded over 6 million times. Who knows if that number is close to accurate, but any way you slice it, Meek is winning right now. He’ll be in Seattle on Wednesday and word is, he’ll be dropping by the studio for an interview. MMG don’t stop.
As we push onward and upward into our 5th year of Sound Session, we had another great episode. While J. Moore was out in Philadelphia for the Red Bull Big Tune beat battle, I was joined in the studio by Sol and Jack The Ripper, two very dope local artists putting in work these days. We also played part of our interview with Big Sean (full interview coming soon…I hope!) and some crazy records from Theophilus London, Big K.R.I.T., Shad, Homeboy Sandman, Nas & Damian Marley, and more.
On the personal tip, I finally saw Avatar (um, insane on Blu-ray, suppose I shoulda caught it in IMAX 3D), but the most impressive Blues over the weekend had to be Chelsea achieving the double in the English Premier League. The big homey Didier Drogba is simply unstoppable right now and he scored another cracker (yes…that’s what soccer folks call a great goal…and yes, it’s fun to yell out “cracker” when celebrating):

Here’s the first official leak from Free & Jake’s Stimulus Package album dropping 2 days after my birthday in February. Pretty straightforward joint, but a dope ass beat plus dope rhymes…[Phonte] what more do y’all want? [/Tay]
While at Rhymesayers’ epic Soundset Festival in Minnesota, the homey Peter Parker linked up with the other homies Jake One & Freeway for a quick chat about their upcoming album, The Stimulus Package. If you thought White Van Music was a big record for Jake and for Seattle, wait till this one drops. It’s gonna be a big moment for the merging of the commercial & underground scenes nationwide.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go destroy some folks on the soccer pitch in this lovely 80 degree Seattle weather. [Jada] ah-HAAAAA [/Kiss]
