The Audacity of Dope

Wayne and Jeezy battled it out last week, but I think we all know there’s only one winner loser here.  The undisputed king of wack lyrics is none other than Dwayne Carter.  As a prize, Weezy wins a continuous streak of WLotD, possibly for the entire month of September.  We’ll see how it goes.  First up, a contribution from my Ill Vibes fam:

This is off one of Wayne’s countless guest appearances, Kevin Rudolf’s “Let It Rock.”  LOL @ paying this dude a ton of money to drop a wack verse, in hopes that his name alone makes the song a hit.  Doesn’t that plan backfire if Wayne has 10 new guest spots a week?  Well, I guess it doesn’t backfire for Wayne.  He gets syrup money for the next decade.  KEEP WACK ALIVE!

This is like watching a tennis match.  Wayne…Jeezy…Wayne…Jeezy…Wayne.  Who wants the WLotD crown?  It’s a fight to the death.

This has always been one of my pet peeves.  If you reeeeeally have to twist how a word is pronounced to make it rhyme, it doesn’t.  The only dude who pulls it off reasonably well is Wyclef, but that’s often questionable too.  This particular indiscretion by T-Pain just makes me cringe.  Peep for yourself, 31 seconds in:

Weezy fans must hate me for using him as a WLotD entry so often, but it’s kinda like the car theft statistics: Honda Civics are always stolen the most because they’re so many of ’em. So yeah, Wayne clearly has talent…but when you’re releasing 5 new verses a day, and you’re already starting to enter your Eminem Encore phase, it’s just a perfect storm. Sorry.

Well, The Carter III was finally released today and every person with awful taste has run up on me calling it a classic (even Diddy felt the need to proclaim greatness). More people than ever are buying into this “greatest rapper alive” nonsense, so I figured I would use Weezy for today’s WLotD. He’s definitely the G.O.A.T. in that category, hands down. There’s about 8 wack lyrics in the first song alone, but this is the one I’m rolling with for today:
